Business services at UMB

UMB Bank offers a variety of services, including payment solutions, for business customers, with options scalable to your business needs.

File Transmission

File transmission, commonly referred to as an SFTP or HTTPS upload/download connection, is a way to securely send files to UMB for processing. This could be either by an encrypted automated process or by uploading directly to the bank via the secure HTTPS website.

Both file transmission options require your company to identify a technical contact to work with UMB. If you currently use file transmission, a UMB migration/conversion specialist will contact you to help with this transition.

SFTP is a direct mainframe-to-mainframe connection between your company and UMB. HTTPS is a single link you can use to upload your file through Premier Business Online Business under Advanced Payments. Both SFTP and HTTPS requires a UMB specialist to set up your company for this service.

File transmission connections are commonly used for the following product types:

  • ACH
  • Check Positive Pay
  • Image Cash Letter
  • BAI2 data files
  • ACH Return and NOC reporting
  • ACH File Confirm and HTTPS site

Customers will be able to manage ACH file uploads and confirm ACH files through a single sign-on within Premier Business Online Banking.

IntraFi – ICS Account

Deposit Control Panel (”DCP”) is IntraFi‘s online portal to view additional details about your ICS account beyond what is available within online banking. Please refer to the user guide you received in early June to establish user access to UMB’s Deposit Control Panel after 5 p.m. CT on July 14, 2025.

In your current online banking platform, you may have a separate account tile that outlines your ICS balances; however, this will work differently at UMB. Beginning July 14, when you switch to Premier Business Online Banking, the balances for ICS will be displayed on the sweep account’s available balance field. This field reflects the combined amount of the balance in your account at UMB and the associated ICS balance of the account.

If you wish to retain ICS statement history from your current DCP portal, please download your statements before July 12, 2025. Note: there will not be an ICS statement that reflects activity between July 1 – 13. If you wish to retain records of transactions between these dates, within DCP go to the Transaction History available under Account History tab and export these transactions for your records.

For the month of July, statements pulled from UMB’s IntraFi Deposit Control Panel will only reflect activity after conversion weekend (July 14 – 31, 2025).

Excluded Banks: Any exclusions you’ve selected will transition over as part of the conversion weekend activities.

Agreement: The agreement with HTLF for your Insured Cash Sweep accounts is based on terms that were set when the agreement was signed. Your agreement with will not change based on this transition. As a reminder, the interest rate on your account may change from day to day at any time.

Liquidation on HTLF to new account at UMB IntraFi: Over conversion weekend accrued interest will be compounded to the principal balance of your ICS account and will result in funds being redistributed across the IntraFi network of banks.

Wires

The wire transfer system is highly reliable and secure and is beneficial for high-dollar payment transactions.

UMB processes Wire Transfers through the Federal Reserve’s communication network (Fedwire). This system moves money from an account at one financial institution to an account at another on a real-time basis. The network connects all Federal Reserve offices and member banks.

Customers can send wires through online banking, in-branch, phone-in or batch wires via SFTP.

Domestic wire transfer

Domestic Wire Transfer provides a fast, secure way to make final payment on a real-time, same-day basis.

International wire transfer

International wire transfer allows a company to send payments in U.S. dollar (USD) or foreign currency to a large number of foreign correspondent banks.

Contact your Treasury Management representative for more details.

Phone-in wires

Customers can send domestic, international USD and FX wires through phone-in wires. To initiate a phone-in wire, please call UMB Wire Transfer department at 1-888-449-4737 (1-888-44WIRES).

Domestic Wire transfers may be initiated and confirmed by phone from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, except bank holidays.

International USD Wire transfers may be initiated and confirmed by phone from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, except bank holidays.

International Foreign Exchange Wire Transfers may be initiated and confirmed by phone from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, except for bank holidays.

New for customers

Tokens
UMB requires the use of a SecurID token for phone-in wires. This token will replace the PIN that you currently use for phone-in wires and will provide an enhanced level of authentication. The token is dynamic and displays a new value every 60 seconds.

Callbacks
UMB requires a callback for phone-in wires depending on dollar limits that have been setup and/or what type of account you have.

Limits
Each authorized user is assigned a per-transaction limit. Daily cumulative limits are not available for phone-in.

Contact your Treasury Management representative for more details.
